Rooftop Sauna and Cold Plunge in Archway, North London

A real outdoor sauna and cold plunge on the roof of our coworking space — included with every Bespoke Spaces membership. Part of the Work Well Project.

A Different Kind of Working Day

On the roof at 14 Windermere Road in Archway, we built an outdoor sauna and cold plunge. It's an electric sauna for up to six people, running up to 90°C, with a one-cubic-metre cold plunge alongside. The plunge temperature varies with the weather — colder in winter when you need it, milder in summer when you don't.

It's rough and ready, not a spa. Outdoor changing area, cold-water showers, shelving for your bags, hooks for your towels, a tap to fill your water bottle, and a place to leave your shoes. We provide sauna hats. You bring everything else: swimwear, towel, water bottle.

The sauna and cold plunge are included with every coworking and office membership at Bespoke Spaces — at both our Archway and Hornsey locations. There's no per-session fee. You book a slot, you turn up, you sauna.

Part of the Work Well Project

We didn't build a sauna because saunas are trendy. We built one because we love it and because the working day is genuinely better when you can reset properly in the middle of it. Twenty minutes of heat followed by a cold plunge does more for an afternoon slump than another coffee, and it's hard to spend that time in a sauna without genuinely switching off.

The sauna is the most visible part of the Work Well Project — our broader approach to building workspaces that support the people in them rather than just provide them with desks. Cold contrast bathing is supported by a growing body of evidence on stress reduction, recovery, and mental clarity, but more practically: it just makes work less punishing.

It's also social. You'll usually share the sauna with other members. Some of the best conversations in the building happen up there — which is partly the point.

How It Works

1. Book your slot

Members book sauna sessions through the booking system below. Sessions are one hour, slots run between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and we're working on expanding the hours.

2. Turn up

Bring swimwear, a towel, and a water bottle. We provide sauna hats. The sauna is on the roof terrace — staff will let you up if you're not sure where to go.

3. Change, sauna, plunge, repeat

The changing area, showers, plunge, and sauna are all together on the roof. Most members do 15-20 minutes in the sauna, then a dip in the plunge, then repeat as many times as the hour allows.

4. Get back to work

Or don't. The sauna is a deliberate reset point in the day — go back to work refreshed, or end your day with one and go home properly relaxed.

Who Uses the Sauna

Every coworking member, every office tenant, and every member of their staff — at both our Archway and Hornsey locations — has full access to the sauna and cold plunge included with their membership. There's no separate fee, no add-on, no upcharge.

If you're a member and want to bring a guest, you can — they're welcome to join you on your booking. The sauna isn't available to non-members under our current licence, so bringing a friend means coming with you rather than booking separately.

Private bookings are available if a team wants the space to themselves, but they come at a cost. For most people, the shared use is part of the point — you bump into other members, you have a conversation, you become part of the building.

Before You Use the Sauna

The sauna and cold plunge are powerful — they're also genuinely safe if used sensibly. A few things worth knowing:

  • Hydrate before, during, and after. There's a tap in the changing area.

  • Don't use the sauna or cold plunge if you've been drinking alcohol.

  • Limit single sauna sessions to 15-20 minutes — get out before you feel uncomfortable.

  • Don't use the cold plunge if you have heart conditions, high blood pressure, or are pregnant without speaking to your doctor first.

  • Cold plunge entry should be gentle — get in slowly, breathe steadily, don't dive.

  • Children under 16 should not use the sauna or plunge without adult supervision and shorter session times.

  • Tell us if anything feels wrong. The space is staffed during operating hours.

Full house rules are posted on site and you'll need to agree to a brief waiver on your first visit.
